Ramanujans Traum: Computer beweisen mathematische Formeln
Vorangestellt sei ein Zitat über den berühmten indischen Mathematiker Ramanujan (1887-1920): ''...Ramanujan used to say that the goddess of Namakkal inspired him with the formulae in dreams. It is a remarkable fact that frequently, on rising from bed, he would note down results and rapidly verify them, though he was not always able to supply a rigorous proof...'' -
Neue Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet der Computeralgebra ermöglichen automatische Beweise von mathematischen Formeln durch den Computer. Daraus ergeben sich interessante Anwendungsmöglichkeiten. Der Vortrag bietet eine allgemein verständliche Einführung in diese Thematik anhand konkreter Beispiele. Diese reichen von klassischer Mathematik bis hin zu neueren Resultaten der theoretischen Physik und dem maschinellen Überprüfen von mathematischen Formelsammlungen.
