In this talk, we will discuss the Newton iterative solution for the Steklov-Poincaré equations at the interface of the fluid-structure interaction problem. This method can be regarded as a special case of heterogeneous domain decomposition problem in the approximation of fluid-structure subproblems within two disjoint subregions of the compuational domain.

Standard and simple strategies like fixed-piont based method are expensive and may fail to converge. Recent advances in this topic suggest the use of Newton based methods relying on the evaluation of the exact jacobians, e.g the sesitivity of the fluid state with repect to the interface motion.
