Algebraic approach to preconditioning in poroelasticity revisited

In this talk, we will consider possible norms and preconditioners for the time-step problem of the Biot's model coming from implicit Euler discretization in time and finite element discretization in space. The Biot's model is used in a three field form having displacement, pressure and flux fields as unknowns leading to a block 3x3 structure. A class of preconditioners based on Schur complements that lead to a relative condition number independent on model parameters will be discussed and compared with other approaches.
