A posteriori Error Estimation for Adaptive Mesh-Refinement on Non-polygonal Domains

In this talk I want to take a closer look on the construction of residual a posteriori error estimators for polygonal approximated curvilinear domains. First I want to give a short overview on results from the literature for a priori and a posteriori error estimates in this field. Subsequently, the focus is on the deviations in in the structure of the proof and the resulting estimate due to the areas where the mesh and the domain do not conform - in contrast to estimtes for polygonal domains.

We will use Poissons equation with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions as our model problem.
