Johannes Kepler Symposium on Mathematics

As part of the Johannes Kepler symposium on mathematics Seniorprofessor Dr. Rainer Picard, Institut für Analysis, TU Dresden, will give a public talk (followed by a discussion) on Wed, Dec. 14, 2016 at 16:30 o'clock at HS 13 on the topic of "On the Structure of Evolutionary Problems" . The organziers of the symposium,

O.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ulrich Langer,
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gerhard Larcher
A.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Jürgen Maaß, and
die ÖMG (Österreichische Mathematische Gesellschaft),

hereby cordially invite you.

Series B - Mathematical Colloquium:

The intention is to present new mathematical results for an audience interested in general mathematics.

On the Structure of Evolutionary Problems

Many time-dependent physical phenomena described by linear systems of partial differential equations share a rather simple common structure if considered in a suitable functional analytical framework. We shall give a introduction into the core ideas of such a framework, explain the general solution approach and illustrate it by examples. The approach yields a highly unified, conceptually simple, but non-mainstream tool for investigating various models of dynamic phenomena in physics and engineering.
