We consider the vector potential formulation of Maxwell's equation in the magnetostatic case to model electrical machines. To simulate the behaviour of a rotating electrical machine we have to solve these equations for different rotor-positions. The intention of this talk is to give an idea how to construct an Euler predictor with respect to this rotational displacement.

First part of the talk is an introduction into the field of shape calculus - taken from the book "Introduction to Shape Optimization" by Jan Sokolowski and Jean-Paul Zolesio.

Using these techniques we compute the derivative of the magnetostatic problem parametrized by the rotational displacement. In the end of the talk the obtained results will be presented.
