In this talk we will present the results on efficient solvers for a biharmonic problem, the clamped plate problem. We will give a short review on deriving the variational formulation. By using an Ansatz for the solution we will obtain a saddle-point problem, and we will take a closer look at the existence and uniqueness of its solution. Additionally, we will show numerical results of the solver and also of a preconditioned variant.
