This talk is about determining optical flow. First we will discuss how to model the optical flow problem and then we will talk about two important methods for determining the flow. At first, we will consider a method introduced by Horn and Schunck, and second, we discuss an optimal control approach introduced by Borzì, Ito and Kunisch. We will take a closer look on how these two methods are different in how they approach the problem and how they solve the resulting systems of equations. Additionally, there will be shown some results of the Horn-Schunck method.
