In this talk we consider shape optimization based on the approach "first discretize then optimize". The starting point for the considerations is a physical application which leads to a shape optimization problem of electromagnets. First, we have to find a geometry representation as B-spline surface and specify the design variables. The next step is the discretization which is, as already indicated in the title, done by means of isogeometric analysis. Moreover, we perform a sensitivity analysis on the discrete level. Finally, numerical results are presented.
