In the first part of the talk the concept of isogeometric analysis is presented. Basis functions generated from NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines) are employed to construct an exact geometric model. For purposes of analysis, the basis is refined and/or its order elevated without changing the geometry of its parameterization. A short introduction to B-Splines and NURBS is given.

In the second part of the talk possible applications in CFD are discussed.
